Angie & George’s Wedding Weekend {Part One}

Drum roll, please…

I finally picked and edited some photos to share from Angie and George’s Wedding Weekend!

It is such a joy looking through the pictures from the weekend that flew past too fast. My other sister, Sarah, was amazing and created a Shutterfly event page for everyone in the family to share and access everyone else’s photos. Ah! The hard part was narrowing down which photos to share (because I always want to share every moment that meant so much to me), but that will also explain why the coloring, dimensions, and quality might vary – they are all different cameras, phones, and people!

There were a few different events leading up the wedding. In effort to save you from posts already photo overladen, I will share only the “formal affairs” and not the random family gatherings. The weekend officially started Friday night with a Rehearsal Dinner! (Me and Andy with the Bride and Groom, Angie & George!)

It was a blessed time to celebrate these two with our dear family – aunts, uncles, cousins, cousins kiddos, and friends – there were so, so many people who traveled from near and VERY far (Arizona, California, New York & dear Steffi made it a priority to get here from Germany)!

George’s family is 100% Greek. In case you weren’t sure, his last name is Panagiotopoulos! So, the rehearsal dinner doubled as a Greek dancing crash course.

The Boys – Brothers, Cousins, & Uncles (I think some of them are dancing because Andy and Uncle George typically don’t stand that way)!

On a personal note, we desperately wanted to bring Max and Cal to the rehearsal dinner and we waffled back and forth. At this point, we had already been at Grandma & Grandpa’s for 2 nights, going to bed very late the first night, and then spending all day Friday at the lake with family, swimming in the sun, and another no-nap for Max (not to mention the next night traveling and staying in a hotel and expecting Max in tip top shape for his ring bearer duties on Sunday). Ultimately we made the decision to leave them home with G&G (I cried). We didn’t want them to miss out, but also didn’t want to set up two already overtired children for mass meltdown; which is not a fun night for anyone. It was a fantastic decision; they were both asleep by 7 pm – with no wake-ups – we just got to enjoy the whole night and didn’t get home until around 11 pm!

They actually got married on Sunday, so we had an extra day in the middle, which was fun because we laid low at G&G’s in the morning, the boys took their naps, and then we made our way to Lake Geneva for a rehearsal at the church and another immediate family rehearsal dinner. No pics from the actual rehearsal. It was at an adorably tiny Greek Orthodox Church and this was their first ever wedding! Conveniently, there was a donkey being corralled on the lot next to the church, so the boys were entertained :) Apple juice cheers to that!

25 Off to The Baker House for a super fun and beautiful dinner outside (My sisters and I took our mom there this past Spring for a formal afternoon (birthday) tea)!

Going through pics I realized, as with so many big family events, there are always pictures I wanted to take and am missing. I don’t have any with just my mom or dad; so I can’t wait to see the photographers photos! This is the only good one of me and my brother, Matt!

All three boys in coordinating outfits was an adorable accident (you can’t see it, but they’re all wearing the exact same shorts, too). I did mine on purpose, but adding Joey to the mix was just icing on the cake!

After dinner, George surprised Angie with a private boat ride, champagne, and dancing under the stars! George is pretty sneaky and romantic like that :)

Well, there you have it! Is anyone still with me? Now that I have wet your pallet with not one but two rehearsal dinners; I will share Angie and George’s Wedding Day tomorrow! {See Wedding Weekend Parts TWO & THREE}
