{Captured}: 4 & SMALL

{Captured}: Carving the time to capture and create in picture and word.

My littlest man turned 2 this past weekend! We celebrated both boy’s birthdays party (an always over-stimulating, can’t complete one conversation, but filled-to-overflowing at the love for our boys kind of day), which I will be sharing more about.

I’ve captured a moment; now to capture some thoughts. Lisa-Jo Baker hosts 5 minute Friday, offering a prompt and then allowing space and only a brief time to write. Just write. Just 5 minutes (or so ;).

Five Minute Friday

Today’s prompt: SMALL

Go:

Small things have the capacity to grow big.

If we have faith as small as a mustard seed, it can become the mightiest of trees. If we have five small loaves of barely bread, it can feed thousands. If we are small in the world, we can become  filled with peace, comfort, mercy and receive the Kingdom of Heaven!

The small are often cast down, cast out, cast aside. The greatest among these oppressed are the children. Children that we undervalue are the same children of whom the Lord said, “Bring them to me.” I know I get so caught up in learning, knowing, or accomplishing that the small wonders are overlooked. We should not take lightly that Jesus himself said and reminds us that He praises the Father because:

Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.” – Matthew 11:25

Whether the littlest and least of these in the world or the dear, small ones underfoot. Be reminded today that small things grow big, a small path leads to life…small gestures show great love.

The lyrics of this song reinvigorated my purpose today!

What small gestures can you make to show great love this weekend?
