Rain Down Grace

This day, today, is beautiful.

This morning was this year’s final meeting for my Women’s Bible Study, Encounter. We worked through Romans throughout the past two semesters and I grew in my love for the Lord, cherished my time with sweet women, and enjoyed my Wednesday morning breaktime while Max LOVED every minute in the nursery with new toys and fun friends!  I will miss it this summer, but had a wonderful morning listening to how Christ is working in so many people’s lives! Next year we’re tackling Genesis. While a totally different “syle” and “vibe” from Romans, I can’t wait to start up again in the Fall.

Later this morning, shortly after arriving home, I saw this…

the rain moving in

The rain is indeed moving in, as was expected given the insane humidity the past couple days. But, honestly, I LOVE days that look {just.like.this.} It is still warm outside, but feels so cozy to stay in and curl up where it is dry. As my baby sleeps, I am sitting with a cup of coffee, listening to thunder rolling and thought…

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
            declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
   come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
   without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
   and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands. – Isaiah 55:8-12

Praise God for who He is and for how His word will not return to Him empty, just as this rain will not pour down without watering the earth.
