Women of the Word (WOW): 4.4.11

For the last couple week’s I’ve been working on Titus 2:11-14 {Blessed Hope and Savior}, it is time to dig into some new scripture – The Lord certainly is an {incredible author} – His Book is jam-packed with Good stuff…

In this week’s verses, once again the Lord is our Savior, but it also identifies Him as a Righteous Branch and King (I definitely need to expand on these incredible names and will do so soon in an additional post):

“The days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“when I will raise up for David
a righteous Branch,
a King who will reign wisely
and do what is just and right in the land.
In his days Judah will be saved
and Israel will live in safety.
This is the name by which he will be called:
   The LORD Our Righteous Savior.

– Jeremiah 23:5-6

Resting in His Presence; Relishing His Peace!

“One of our greatest needs as women is to become women of the Word, so that our prayers, our responses, and our words are saturated with God’s way of thinking…Each of us should be able to use the Word effectively, not only in our worship and our own walk, but also in ministering to the needs of others. If we’re going to be women of the Word, we must make a priority of spending time daily in the Scripture – reading, studying, memorizing, meditating, personalizing, and praying it back to God – letting Him teach us His ways.”

– Nancy Leigh DeMoss (Biblical Womanhood in the Home, 73)

Great verses! I’m trying to read through the Bible chronologically this year and although I’m a bit behind I hope to catch up soon. I love that no matter what I read it always full fills me and puts me where I need to be.
